Product Description
The
easy-to-use program for both the practical worker and the statistical
expert. Professional data analysis within a fully FDA 21 CFR Part 11
compliant environment and without time-consuming programming.
For the practical worker
- Instead of sophisticated modeling, well-known,
standard procedures for one group, two groups, multiple groups,
stratified multiple groups, and more.
- Direct input of frequencies and statistical coefficients.
For the statistical expert
- Exact permutational procedures with high precision for high data volume in 'the twinkling of an eye'.
- Correct asymptotic results (tied values, continuity
problem), fully specified, optional output of computed scores and
intermediate result
For the decision maker
- Emphasis on robust procedures with minimal assumptions.
- Benefit / risk ratio using tests and confidence
intervals for non-inferiority, equivalence, superiority, relevant
superiority - including one-sided procedures with a specified direction.
For the casual user or report writer
- Menu driven with context sensitive help.
- Data sensitive guidance for the user.
- Output of report-ready tables.
For the worker obliged to conform to GCP
- Fully compliant with FDA 21 CFR Part 11.
- Full documentation and audit paper trail.
- Automatic documentation.

Principal Characteristics
Quality and GCP conformity:
- Asymptotically correct and validated, fully explained results.
- Exact permutational procedures (shift and network algorithm since 1981).
- Automatically correct application of procedures based on the specifications of variables.
- Audit paper trails and validated working environment.
Audit paper trail
Conforming with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and Good Clinical
Practice quality requirements: for all working sessions. All tables
with date and time stamps and other information.
Different data structures/sources available
Input
files, spreadsheet input, keyboard input of enumerated data (table
editor) or statistics (e.g. mean and standard deviation for t test) to
enable correct recalculations based on published results.
Output tables
Output tables contain all necessary information and a camera-ready layout: there is no need for post-editing.
Several variables and/or points in time
can be processed in one run: repeat modus for generating hundreds of tables in a short time.
Procedures
Emphasis
on simple robust (nonparametric) procedures for obtaining confirmatory
results as required for statistical proof of efficacy/safety by ICH
Biostatistics Guideline E9: no pre-test and model checks necessary.
- Robust procedures with minimum assumptions.
- Emphasis on easy to use procedures (no sophisticated modeling).
- Tests for difference and test for equivalence / non-inferiority.
- Effect size measures and confidence intervals.
- Explicit two-sided and one-sided procedures.
- Directionality of all tests and estimators.
- Instant interactive graphs for description and analysis.
Test for difference and test for equivalence/non-inferiority
Now required in nearly all domains of research (e.g. ICH Biostatistics Guideline E9).
Measures of effect size/relevance and their confidence intervals
Now required by publication guidelines (e.g. CONSORT).
Cutting edge software algorithms
The most complete program package currently
available for computer intensive exact procedures (the gold standard of
statistics).
According to requirements of the New Biometry
The procedures and output results make use of now
indispensable information: one-/two-sided tests, direction of
superiority, non-inferiority, specification of test and reference
group, type of data (categorical/continuous).
All procedures are validated
Validation monograph and examples (test suite) are part of the documentation.
Data import/export
available for ASCII (with optional delimiters),
FORTRAN, BASIC, dBASE Format (III+, IV, xBase), Excel data files with
detailed validation and error correction (FDA 21 CFR Part 11).
Manual and tutorials
with descriptions for both the non-statistician
worker and the professional user, context-sensitive on-line help.
Collection of example volumes, tutorials with optional user
certification.
Fast and easy to use:
- Menu driven input, no programming necessary.
- Output of formatted tables, fully explained and with audit paper trail.
- Tables and calculations are controlled automatically using specifics of data type.
- Incredibly fast processing using the repeat mode.

Documentation
TESTIMATE comes with a documentation bundle, which reviews have rated
as "excellent". The following list includes all documentation.

TESTIMATE, how they can be assigned to different types of data, test
situations, etc. (8 pages).
- Effect size measures for specifying and testing for
difference or equivalence/non-inferiority (37 pages, examples from the
literature).
- Examples for beginners (92 pages).
- Examples for advanced users (105 pages).

System Technical Requirements
To work efficiently and professionally with TESTIMATE the following equipment is required:
- PC with Pentium III, 2GHz or higher
- 10GB free hard disk capacity
- Computer screen resolution of min. 800x600
- Windows 2000, XP, Vista
(For other versions of Windows idv offers the software on a so-called virtual PC which uses Windows 2000 covertly.)
