Homework Package
Each lesson of ActivStats
provides homework exercises. Homework exercises typically provide data and ask
questions that employ the methods or concepts of that lesson. Many exercises
include datasets and are linked with a mouse click to Data Desk or one of the
Interactive Tools.
Many ActivStats exercises
are original. Another large group are quoted (with permission) from:
- Moore D., The Active Practice of Statistics, 1997, W.H. Freeman, New York.
- Rossman, A., Workshop Statistics, 1996, Springer-Verlag, New York.
- Triola M., Elementary Statistics, 7th edition, 1997, Addison Wesley, Reading Mass.
- Weiss N., Elementary Statistics, 4th edition, 1999, Addison Wesley, Reading, Mass.
- Weiss N., Introductory Statistics, 5th edition, 1999, Addison Wesley, Reading, Mass.

ActivStats also provides Projects with each lesson. Projects typically require the gathering as well as the
analysis of data. They are thus both more realistic applications of the concepts and methods, and more extensive and time-consuming.
