Interactive Tools
ActivStats includes thirteen interactive tools designed to teach specific statistics concepts. Each tool is used in narrated expositions of new concepts and then used to discover concepts. "Discovery learning" such as this is far more rewarding and more effective than learning from lectures. Concepts discovered for yourself are easier to recall and more readily integrated with other understanding.
The tools are consistent with each other so they are easy to learn and to use. Many tools are used to teach more than one concept. The following pictures show how expositions are always added to the bottom of tool windows. Click on an image to see the full-resolution screen shot.
